Position Description
Reporting to the Supervisor, Patient Food Services, the Cook will be responsible for the daily food preparation and cooking of menu items for the Cafeteria, Catering and Patient Services. If you are an enthusiastic and energetic individual who enjoys creating quality meals while providing friendly customer service, we would love to hear from you.
Here's What You'll Get To Do:
  • Assist with the preparation of meals for our patients and ensure food is prepared safely and delivered to our patients in a timely fashion.
  • Take part in daily food preparations for the Cafeteria and Catering services which provide food for our patients, families, and Hosptial staff.
  • Work as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
Here's What You'll Need:
  • The flexibility to work varying shifts throughout the week as well as weekends and Statutory Holidays.
  • The adaptability to work in other areas of Food Services as needed and assigned.
  • A Provincial Red Seal Certificate or a current Food Handlers Certificate.
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • 2 or more years of previous experience in a similar position.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A positive attitude coupled with a strong work ethic and excellent customer service skills.
  • Good knowledge of food production and food safety (WHMIS, HACCP) is necessary.
  • A knowledge of Special Diets and Allergies would be a definite asset.
  • Organized with the ability to multitask.
Employment Type: Regular, Part-Time (15 hours per week).
Shifts:
  • 15 hours per week.
  • Varied shifts throughout the week, as well as weekends and Statutory Holidays.
  • Although this posting indicates an initial area of assignment and shift, the Hospital reserves the right to assign to other areas of assignment and shifts as deemed necessary.
